‘B*A*P*S’ Star Natalie Desselle Passes Away at 53

B*A*P*S and Eve star Natalie Desselle Reid has died at the age 53, her family announced on her instagram this morning. She had been battling colon cancer. Writing in a post, “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning from colon cancer. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife.”

Many who worked with Desselle over the years have come out to give their condolences to Desselle’s family. One of the most notable was her B*A*P*S co-star Halle Berry who said in posts on her social media that she was “completely heartbroken.”

Desselle was not the biggest name in the industry, but she certainly left an impact on those that met and worked with her. In the late 90’s she came on the scene and had a small part in Family Matters, a mid tier role in the Queen Latifah led Set It Off, and a starring role opposite of Berry in B*A*P*S. She would go on to appear in a slew of Television programs including a main role as Janie in the comedy series Eve.

Currently she seemed to have been working on a feature to her role as the title character in the 2010 short film Queen Victoria’s Wedding. The industry has gone through many types of losses this year and no loss in the industry is easy and this is no exception. Individuals have dreams of entertaining millions across the world and Desselle was talented and driven enough to be a part of the magic of cinema.

She is survived by her husband and her three children. Our deepest condolences to her friends and family.
