Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has added The Baby-Sitters Club star Xochitl Gomez to its cast, via Deadline. There is no word yet what role she will play, but seeing as the film will involve multiverses, she could literally play any character in any universe.
The returning cast include sorcerers Doctor Stephen Strange(Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wong(Benedict Wong) and ally turned enemy Karl Mordo(Chiwetel Ejiofor). In addition to new cast member to the Strange Universe Gomez, Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff, after her own TV WandaVision releasing in December on Disney +.
There are no plot details as of now, but seeing as Cumberbatch has recently been cast in the untitled third Spider-Man movie and WandaVision has still yet to come out, plot details will most likely be kept under wraps to avoid spoilers for the MCU.
On top of the strange connections between the latest batch of MCU productions, seemingly involving the multiverse, original Spider-Man director Sam Raimi has been confirmed to direct.
With the latest addition of Xochitl Gomez and the upcoming shooting schedule more casting is sure to be on the way.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to start shooting in May, and expected to be released on March 25, 2022.
