‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Passes ‘Jurassic World’ in Box Office Sales, Making it the Fourth Largest Grossing Film of All Time

Avengers: Infinity War has done it again, folks. The superhero mega-film has officially surpassed 2015’s Jurassic World and is now the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.

On Thursday, May 17, Disney announced that their most recent Marvel film had reached $1.686 billion in sales worldwide. Domestically, the film achieved total sales of $562.9 million in box office sales after 20 days of release and $1.123 billion after three weeks in worldwide sales.

Avengers: Infinity War has already been crowned as the first film to reach $1 billion in sales after only 11 days of release which is one day earlier than the third highest grossing film of all time Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film also is the eighth highest grossing film domestically.

After the highly anticipated release of Deadpool 2, it is assumed that Avengers will finally, after three weeks of release, be bumped to the second highest grossing film of the weekend. While Deadpool 2 is expected to reached between $130 and $150 million in opening weekend sales, Avengers is only expected to peak at around $30 million.

Do you think Avengers: Infinity War will eventually make its way to the number three highest grossing movie of all time, or will Star Wars: The Force Awakens hold its ground?
