With many still highly anticipating Avengers: Endgame after such a big cliffhanger Infinity War left off on, many are curious as to how long this new movie will be. According to the AMC theaters’ website, the film is set to be 3 hours and 2 minutes long.
The Russos have claimed back in November when the film was still being edited that the movie was over 3 hours. When they were asked again back in February, they stated that the film was close to the three-hour mark. There has yet to be anything to deny Endgame’s true length, so the 3 hours and 2 minutes run time would easily make this the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, which was a record previously held by Infinity War at 2 hours and 29 minutes.
While some may claim this is too long for a Marvel production, considering how every other Marvel movie was leading up to this, an epic length for a film like this seems rather fitting. The Russos stated in an interview about the length saying, “When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”
It’ll make for one long epic finale of what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building up to for nearly a decade now. Avengers: Endgame is set to release on April 26, 2019.
