With streaming services having many new stars coming from various new shows, it was only a matter of time before certain actors and actresses are seen in leading roles for genres such as romantic comedies. Now, with a new film under the belt of the team behind the hit web series, High Life, Brenton Thwaites from the DC streaming service series Titans and Lily Sullivan of the Amazon Prime series, Picnic at Hanging Rock, are both going to be part of I Met A Girl.
The film is written by Adam and Glen Dolman, who described the film as a “personal story that will resonate with audiences worldwide” which makes sense considering how the film was written by them shortly after the death of a close friend who suffered from a mental illness. The project is expected to be shot sometime within the next year, in Western Australia and New South Wales.
The Australian romantic comedy film will be about a musician with Schizophrenia, played by Thwaites as he goes on a cross-country road trip through Australia to find a mysterious woman, played by Lily Sullivan. The film will be directed by Luke Eves and produced by AMP International and ScreenWest. The film is said to be “romantic and sweet”, according to ScreenWest CEO, Peter Rowe, who also cited that the film will have international appeal due to its good balance of humor and pathos.
