After recent success with Northmen- A Viking Saga, Ascot Elite Entertainment has announced a new Viking-centric project tentatively titled Seven for Valhalla. According to Deadline reporting, this new project will bring back the writing duo Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer who co-wrote Northmen- A Viking Saga nearly ten years after the unexpected hit. Since the hit of Northmen, the writing duo has also worked on screenplays for the crime series Death In The Prater and helped shape the concepts for the third season of Charité.

The screenplay for Seven for Valhalla is said to take inspiration from Japanese director Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai released in 1954. It follows seven samurai who come together to defend their village from bandits. “Like the samurai in Kurosawa’s timeless classic, our Viking heroes will go on a wild ride, against all odds. Multi-layered characters, epic action, and a visually stunning medieval landscape – Seven For Valhalla will be a real blast,” Zach and Bauer said according to Deadline

“The world always needs a good Viking movie and working with such a talented pair of writers is truly rewarding,” Producer for Ascot Elite Entertainment Ralph S. Dietrich said to Deadline. “Their expertise in historical narratives and their ability to develop compelling stories and characters make them ideal partners to create another visually stunning project with Seven for Valhalla.”
