A-lister Antonio Banderas has reportedly joined the cast with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in Sony‘s Uncharted.
Banderas recently received widespread acclaim for his role in Pedro Almodovar’s Pain and Glory, earning him an Academy Award nomination this year. His other credits include Sony Pictures’ Desperado and The Mask of Zorro. Currently, he is working on the Spanish film “Competencia Oficial” alongside Penelope Cruz and will next be seen in “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” alongside Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson.
Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Tati Gabrielle has also joined the cast as Uncharted‘s female lead. Alongside her role in Sabrina, Gabrielle most recently starred in The CW’s The 100 and had a voice role in Sony Pictures Animation’s The Emoji Movie.
Additionally, Sophia Ali has boarded the film. Her film credits include Blumhouse’s thriller film Truth or Dare and Everyone Wants Some!! She will next appear in Amazon Studios’ The Wilds which stars Rachel Griffiths. She also has appeared on ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
Uncharted is an adaptation of the popular video game where Spider-Man‘s Tom Holland will play the role of an adventurer named Nathan Drake who uncovers historical mysteries around the world. Zombieland and Venom director Ruben Fleischer will take over the film after the previous director Travis Knight. Sony is expecting to release the movie on March 5, 2021.
