Anna Kendrick Sings Her Heart Out in ‘The Last Five Years’ Trailer

Into The Woods star Anna Kendrick still has plenty of singing in her future, as she is featured in the UK trailer for The Last Five Years singing a medley of songs from the Tony Award Winning off-Broadway musical on which it’s based.

The story follows a five year relationship between rising novelist Jamie Wellerston (Jeremy Jordan of TV’s Smash) and struggling actress Cathy Hiatt (Kendrick). The film alternates between Cathy and Jamie’s perspectives, with Cathy’s story told in reverse from the end of the marriage and Jamie’s perspective told in chronological order.

This adaptation is directed by Richard LaGravenese, who directed the romantic drama P.S. I Love You, which also featured a woman dealing with the loss of a loved one. LaGravenese wrote the script for both movies.

Kendrick has become the go-to star for musicals, with the upcoming Into The Woods coming out Christmas Day and Pitch Perfect 2 hitting theaters next May. Wellerston’s biggest film up to this point was the musical Joyful Noise. The full movie comes out February 13, 2015, and you can check out the trailer below.
