Spoilers ahead for Spider-man: No Way Home
If you have seen the film, you’ve already seen the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man alongside Tom Holland. This was a dream come true for many hardcore fans; among them was Garfield himself, who saw the film opening night.
Garfield speaks about how he was in disbelief all the way up to the film’s release. “I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask. In fact, I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together, and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together.”
During an interview conducted by ET for the Netflix film Tick Tick… Boom (which is being honored by the Palm Springs International Film Awards’ Desert Palm Achievement Award for Garfield’s performance) Garfield mentions how he was “thrilled” to join his fellow wall-crawlers in Marvel’s newest film.
Garfield said that he was “like the fans in the audience” when he was pitched the idea of his return. When discussing his appearance in one of the biggest moments in the franchise, he says: “And like, your head, your little head, it just explodes. So, that’s the main thing in me that I feel about it.”
ET also enquired about the possibility of Garfield’s return in further Spider-Man projects; to this, he simply said, “Never say never.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home has gone on to be the sixth highest-grossing film of all time less than a month after its release.
