Amy Poehler Announces ‘Wine Country’ Movie

Raise a glass to Amy Poehler as she makes her directorial debut in Wine Country. The script is written by Parks and Recreation cast mate Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski who worked with Poehler on SNL. The cast will also include: Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Maya Rudolph and Emily Spivey. Of course, the movie, made for Netflix, wouldn’t be complete without longtime friend and collaborator Tina Fey’s input.

Wine Country will follow a group of longtime friends who travel to Napa to celebrate a 50th birthday. The cast broke the news in a lyrical tweet:

Poehler will also host a new competition series, Making It, along with Nick Offerman and continues to act as executive producer on the Hulu series Difficult People

Wine Country will begin filming in both Los Angeles and Napa, CA at the end of March.
