The American Film Institute (AFI) published their list of the best films of 2015. The list includes many of the years’ most critically admired films and a great many that are without question a part of the Oscar conservation. They include Spotlight, Carol and Mad Max: Fury Road. Most notably, however, may the inclusion of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The AFI list was comprised of a jury consisting of industry professionals, film critics and historians. The list was actually postponed in part so that members of the jury had a chance to see J.J. Abrams’ much anticipated reboot of the beloved space saga.
