San Andreas and Bay Watch heart throb Alexandra Daddario has been recently cast in the upcoming Highland Film Group comedy Happy Life alongside Evangeline Lilly and Ike Barinholtz.
According to Deadline, David Stassen of The Mindy Project and Blockers fame has been tabbed to direct the film and will serve as its principle writer. Happy Life marks the directorial debut of Stassen who began his career as a screenwriter. The film centers around Lilly’s character Allison Beck who recently suspects her workaholic husband Eli is a catalyst of infidelity and is having an affair with an Instagram model. Following a laundry list of mistakes, Beck finds romance with a younger man and sees her performance slip as a ultra responsible mother.
Production on the film commences this September and will be handled by Stassen and Barinholtz alongside Andrew Robinson and courtesy of Aperture Media Productions. Highland Film Group is in charge of handling international sales while UTA Independent Film Group manages its U.S. gross.
Daddario is expected to appear in CBS’s fall premiere of Why Women Kill alongside Ginnifer Goodwin and Lucy Liu. She will also have a starring rile in Highland’s Marc Meyer thriller We Summon the Darkness with Johnny Knoxville.
