Now with a distributor and a trailer already released, Against the Sun, the film about three World War II airmen lost at sea is bound for a wide audience. Starring Tom Felton (the Harry Potter series), Jake Abel (The Host), and Garret Dillahunt (The Scribbler), as three men who crash in the South Pacific with no land for miles and miles around.
Previously titled Ghosts of the Pacific, this movie tells the story of Tom Pastula, Harold Dixon, and Gene Aldrich, previously strangers before their scouting mission six weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor when their plane crashes with no hope of rescue. The retitled Against the Sun was picked up for distribution by Goldcrest Films just in time for its November premiere at the American Film Market.
The trailer shows the growing desperation of the men as they drift in their raft. The film will portray their survival efforts, even as all hope of rescue dwindles, if there was even hope for it anyway. The film is set to be released in the United States in January of 2015.
