In 2022, Adult Swim released a twisted spin on the traditional holiday yule log. Their Yule Log video, Adult Swim Yule Log, was actually a horror film in disguise. The film was created by writer/director Casper Kelly, the creator of the horror short Too Many Cooks from 2022,

Now, two years later, Adult Swim has released a sequel to their original Yule Log film. The sequel, Adult Swim Yule Log 2: Branching Out, has Andrea Laing and Justin Miles returning to reprise their roles. “This holiday, we’re giving the gift that no one thought to ask for, again,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim. Kelly also had a few words to say about his new franchise:

I am thrilled to bring this second genre-defying installment in the Adult Swim Cinematic Yuliverse to fans —  With luck, and your viewership, I will get to fulfill my vision of 31 interconnected Yule Log films, including Adult Swim Yule Log: Next of Kindling and Adult Swim Yule Log: Revenge of the Three French Hen Ninjas, putting Adult Swim squarely in the forefront of the movie franchise space where it belongs.
