Kylo Ren shows off his more sensitive side. The first trailer – a Yahoo Movies exclusive – has arrived for Paterson, a hit at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, which stars Emmy nominated actor Adam Driver in the very different dynamic than that of his cinematic breakthrough one year ago in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Directed by indie maverick Jim Jarmusch (Broken Flowers, Only Lovers Left Alive), the quietly lyrical film centers around a blue collar New Jersey bus driver with aspirations of becoming a poet.
Driver portrays the title character, a quiet and thoughtful observer as he drifts through his daily routine, finding solace as he scribbles in his notebook. This contrasts with Paterson’s wife Laura (Golshifteh Farahani, Exodus: Gods and Kings), whose vibrancy and ambitions find her in a sea of possibility. This meditative-sound log-line looks to be distilled through the singular gifts of Jarmusch, one of the nerviest and most refreshing American independent voices perhaps ever; he also scripted the film.
Paterson, courtesy of Amazon Studios and Bleecker Street, arrives in theaters on December 28th. Check out the trailer below.
