As his wildly successful AMC show hurtles towards its conclusion, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul has been busy leveraging his television popularity to build a film career. The adaptation of the popular videogame series Need For Speed, which will feature Paul, is scheduled for release in March 2014, and he’s recently signed on to play Joshua in Ridley Scott’s Biblical epic Exodus. Most recently Paul has signed on for the indie drama Hellion.
Paul and Juliette Lewis (Whip It, Natural Born Killers) will star as a couple trying to keep their family together in a small Texas town. The film was written and directed by Kat Candler, and will be a feature length version of her short film that premiered at Sundance last year, in which a seven year old boy is bullied by his brothers.
Candler also penned the horror-comedy Saturday Morning Mystery, which serves as a graphic Scooby-Doo parody. The film features a group of ghost hunters and their trusty canine who travel in their minivan to solve a supernatural mystery at an abandoned schoolhouse.
Audiences may have to wait a while for Hellion, but they can catch Paul in the final three episodes of Breaking Bad, Sundays on AMC. Paul is up for a third supporting actor Emmy for his role as Jesse Pinkman.
