
The Dark Knight actor Aaron Eckhart is one of multiple actors to join the cast of an upcoming film, Out of the Ashes. Brenton Thwaites and Bella Samman also join Eckhart. They join a cast that also consists of Autumn Reeser, Don Worley, Michael Regan, and Kira Reed. The film, which just wrapped filming on location in Kentucky, is directed by Steven C. Miller. According to its official synopsis, the film follows “a former soldier (Eckhart) determined to protect his young daughter (Samman) as they flee a ruthless band of marauders in a world ravaged by a mysterious pandemic.”
Chad Law and Dick Grunert wrote the film. Sagiv Diamant produces the film through his Element Production banner, Jordan Dykstra, and Chad Law through Underdogg Entertainment. The film’s executive producers include Jamie R. Thompson, Jon Keyes and Michael Arata, along with Denisa Juhos and Don Worley. Dykstra is currently shopping the film for international sales at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival through Ignite Pictures. This year’s TIFF runs from September 10 to September 20, during which the film could potentially find international buyers.
The film is one of the first to be announced for worldwide sale at this year’s TIFF.
