A24’s Official Trailer For ‘The Drama’ Sees Robert Pattinson And Zendaya Prepare For The Best (Or Possibly Worst) Day Of Their Lives

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in the Official Trailer for A24's 'The Drama'

There’s some drama.”

The first full official trailer for A24’s The Drama, starting Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, has been released and offers more insight into the drama that unsettles the couple in the lead-up to the supposed “greatest day of their lives.”

Engaged couple Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson) are shown prepping for their big day by discussing vows and taking dance lessons, interspersed with sentimental and light-hearted moments of their love for each other. The trailer takes a darker tone when a clip shows Charlie and Emma at dinner with another married couple, played by Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie, who ask them to share “the worst thing they’ve ever done before they tie the knot.” This prompt leads to an unknown confession from Emma that sparks shock, outrage, and disgust among Charlie and their friends.

A sequence of clips is shown, including Pattinson’s Charlie being comforted by an unknown woman, a car crashing into a tree, people arguing at the wedding, Zendaya’s Emma threatening Charlie with a knife, all suggesting that this picture-perfect day will not go according to plan. This was already hinted at in the film’s first trailer, released on December 10th, which showed a tense, awkward-looking Charlie and Emma getting photographed ahead of their wedding.

In this first look, a montage plays of the couple’s life together as the photographer prompts them to name their favorite qualities about one another. This trailer also shifts the tone into a darker atmosphere, showing short clips of Pattinson’s Charlie throwing a chair and blood on his face, and Zendaya’s Emma chugging some brown liquor before her big day.

The Drama is the fourth film written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, whose works, such as 2022’s absurdist black comedy Sick of Myself and 2023’s Dream Scenario, have received critical acclaim. Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone are credited as producers, while Chris Stinson executive-produced. Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters also star in the feature.

Be sure to RSVP and save the date for April 3rd when The Drama arrives in theaters. Check out the full trailer below.
