A24 has made some iconic movies in the past decade, resulting in some even more iconic props. Well now some of those props can be yours, because starting this Monday, A24 is auctioning them off to raise money for charity. The money will be going to various organizations to provide relief for the COVID-19 crisis.
Starting April 24, A24 will be selling off props from the movie Midsommar. Even if you haven’t seen it, you could probably recognize the May Queen flower dress Dani Ardor (Florence Pugh) wears in the film (Fun fact, the dress was made from 10,000 silk flowers). The money made from that dress, its matching crown, and several other props from the film will be going to the Fire Department of New York. The next week, on May 4, A24 will sell off props from Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems, with the proceeds going to Queens Community House. Lastly, on the week of May 11, they will be auctioning props from Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, earning funds for the Food Bank for New York City.
In a time where movie studios seem to have been slowed to a standstill by this crisis, A24 is taking action by giving aid to organizations who are keeping America going. The film industry is not dead yet.
