Since its Christmas Day debut, Marty Supreme has been making a splash at the box office. As its run continues, it managed to hit a milestone not only for the movie itself, but for distribution company A24.
Marty Supreme sees a headlining Timothée Chalamet play Marty Mauser, an aspiring tabletop tennis player who wants to make his talent known. Once he gets an opportunity, he takes any and every chance he can to rise to the top and will leave everyone in his wake.
Although the competition across the Christmas frame was pretty steep, going up against Avatar: Fire And Ash, Marty Supreme was able to and continues to put up a strong performance. Per BoxOfficeMojo, once it hit the wide release, the film managed to make a whopping $15 million in the weekend following Christmas, with a domestic total of $80 million and counting.
Not only is that a good showing for the film itself, but it’s also a great performance for A24. In fact, as Collider notes, Marty Supreme is now the top-performing film to be released by A24 domestically. Everything Everywhere All At Once was the last film to hold the title, with a domestic total of $77 million. It does still hold the title of highest-grossing when it comes to worldwide totals, however, with $142 million against Marty Supreme’s $96 million.
