Whether or not your believe in psychics, it doesn’t change the fact that encountering one can be an eye-opening experience or the most entertaining conversation of the day. That’s what A24’s newest documentary aims to achieve with its focus on a group of New York Psychics. Look Into My Eyes is both thought-provoking and delightfully whimsical, making it an enjoyable viewing for both believers and non.
Look Into My Eyes premiered at the Sundance Festival in January and was directed by Lana Wilson, an accomplished documentarian, who had this quote to share about the film’s goal, “This film is not only an exploration of the phenomenon of psychic readings — it’s an invitation to think about the role of art and performance in our lives”. While the spirituality of the film and the nature of psychics are handled with grace and respect, there are some tongue-in-cheek moments shown throughout the film.
Look Into My Eyes was produced by Kyle Martin, alongside Hannah Buck as editor, and Stephen Maing as the director of photography.
