35th Anniversary Screening For ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret Of The Ooze’ Set For March

Get ready to raise some shell. The Ninja Turtles are coming back to the big screen this March for the 35th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze.

Secret Of The Ooze follows Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael as they continue to protect New York under the guidance of Master Splinter. Unbeknownst to the turtles, their old nemesis Shredder has resurfaced after he was believed to have been stopped for good, with the help of two new mutant underlings to help him carry out his evil deeds.

After first hitting the screen in 1991, Secret Of The Ooze has become quite the beloved flick amongst TMNT fans. Much like the original 1990 Ninja Turtles, the film continued to employ the live-action animatronic/suit style for the turtles themselves, on top of the film introducing other mainstays of TMNT lore, such as Super Shredder and the mutant duo of Tokka and Rahzar.

Screenrant noted that the rerelease of Secret Of The Ooze comes in the wake of a successful $3.7 million run of the original TMNT movie just last year. The success was especially telling thanks to the expansion that the film wound up receiving from Fathom Events, after making a splash in the short frame it was set up for, going from just a mere two days of shows to four weeks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze will be in theaters from March 13th to the 19th.
