Cristopher Jenkins has a new animation film in the works with L’Atelier Animation Studio. Today it was announced that the voice actors for the film, entitled 10 lives have been casted. Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma in the period series is among the cast along with ex-One Direction musician Zayn Malik and comedian Mo Gilligan. Gilligan is going to be giving voice to the main character, a cat named Becket.
Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda) and Dylan Llewellyn (James in Derry Girls) are also a part of the cast. The casting of the film is made by Robyn Klein and Jeremy Ross.
10 Lives is about Becket, a selfish cat who carelessly misses his 9th life. When this happens, he begs for a new chance with no success, until the ‘Gatekeeper’ has a change of heart and gives him the chance to come back to earth with a new set of lives. In this new journey, Becket returns in different forms to earth, learning valuable lessons with it. Becket will transform in a new and better self with this journey.
Jenkins is known for his previous feature Duck, Duck, Goose and for writing the animated film Surf’s Up. The filmmaker has mostly worked in visual effects for animation, having among his credits several Disney films such as Hercules, Pocahontas, The Lion King and The Beauty and Beast. 10 lives is produced by Guy Collins and Sean Feeney for 10 Loves Productions Ltd.
The feature will premiere in 2023.
