Renowned actors Henry Ian Cusick and Jeffrey Jones will perform in David Gidali’s disaster film, 10.0 the Big One. You may recognize Cusick for portraying Desmond Hume in Lost (2004-2010) and Jones for dramatizing principal Ed Rooney in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986).
10.0 the Big One is about a chief engineer and his boss who inadvertently start a string of earthquakes. The independent movie follows the duo as they disturb the San Andreas Fault through fracking (process of forcing open rocks with high pressure liquids to extract oil).
In addition to Cusick and Jones, the other actors who will be showcased in this action packed journey include Cameron Richardson (Alvin and the Chipmunks), David Chokachi (Baywatch), and Kristen Dalton (The Departed).
Movies about “The Big One” seem to be trending; in addition to 10.0 the Big One, Brad Peyton’s San Andreas (2015) will be another action movie about earthquakes at the San Andreas fault. As previously reported by mxdwn Movies, “The Big One” is a hypothetical magnitude 8 earthquake, predicted to take place within the next 30 years. These releases are timely, given the recent quakes in the LA area.
Written by Alex Greenfield and Nancy Leopardi, this film will be a unique take on two co-workers trying to recover after provoking an environmental disaster. 10.0 the Big One is being produced by Indy Entertainment and will be released in the U.S. in 2014. With Cusick and Jones on board, this movie should leave the audience trembling with excitement.
