These are the trailers that, for one reason or another, you should be paying attention to.
There are some roles that require actors to through a transformation, a metamorphosis if you will. This week we are honoring the of films whose stars had to drastically alter their voice, appearance, personality, mindset, or physique – through some method or another – to make us forget about their huge paychecks and catering service. The trailers with actors who couldn’t be bothered are at the bottom – if you care.

Good Lord, just look at Joaquin Phoenix. Sure, Robert De Niro gained the equivalent of two other people in weight for Raging Bull, and Christian Bale slimed down to the size of a piece of string for Rescue Dawn, but just imagine what Phoenix had to go through wearing those hideous mutton chops. Suffer for your art indeed.

You really have to hand it to white actors courageous enough to play other races in 2014. Joel Edgerton must’ve lived in a tanning bed for a year.
#3 – The Theory of Everything
The likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, and Michael B. Jordan may be more celebrated at the moment (and often not without reason), but to ignore Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones is to ignore two of the best young actors in the business today.
