HBO Max launched just a few days ago to much fan fare while fanning the flames of the streaming wars. While many people are focused on the superhero movies and famous TV series they have, the service doesn’t just post quantity, but quality as well. As of its launch, the service has 11 Best Picture Winners, which should certainly excite cinephiles everywhere.
Fans can revisit their favorite Best Picture winning films, including An American in Paris, Ben-Hur, Braveheart, Casablanca, Chicago, Cimarron, Crash, Gone with the Wind, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Ordinary People, and Titanic. If that’s not enough for cinephiles, the service also has numerous Best Picture nominees: 42nd Street, Babe, Bonnie and Clyde, Cabaret (Available June 1), Citizen Kane, Doctor Zhivago, Ford V Ferrari (Available June 20), Good Will Hunting, Heaven Can Wait (Available June 1), How the West Was Won, Jaws, Joker, The Kids are All Right, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Maltese Falcon, Mildred Pierce, Moulin Rouge!, The Nun’s Story, The Philadelphia Story, Ray (Available June 1), A Star is Born (2018), A Streetcar Named Desire, Tess (Available June 1), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and The Wizard of Oz.
