If there is anyone who deserves to see a highly anticipated film early, it’s someone who is a massive fan of a franchise but who may not have the chance to see it when it is officially released. This is the case with Marvel fan, Alexander, from Australia, who has a rare genetic disease known as Fanconi anemia.
Due to his condition weakening his bone marrow, he requested to see Avengers Endgame early. He believes he will not make it until April. The man mentioned on the Marvel subreddit that, “I’m not a child or anyone with a particularly tragic story. Just a normal guy. I’m 33, lost my sister three years ago to the same rare genetic disease it turns out I have too. I’ll leave behind a devoted girlfriend and an adopted greyhound”.
Thanks to major support on Twitter with the hashtag #Avengers4Alexander, directors Joe and Anthony Russo, alongside the god of thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, were informed of the Australian Marvel fan’s situation. Alexander updated his reddit, proclaiming that Disney emailed him regarding his situation. He stated, “It’s everything I hoped for and I owe it all to you”. With so much wonderful help from many supporting Marvel fans who hate the prospect of someone as passionate about Marvel as they are not getting to witness the Avengers’ epic finale, Alexander is able to witness something special before his unfortunate passing.
