Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, Chelsea Peretti, has officially been cast to star in the upcoming independent comedy Spinster.
The film is currently in production and is being directed by Andrea Dorfman. The screenplay was written by Jennifer Deyell. The plot follows a 39 year-old woman (Peretti) who, after being dumped on her birthday, comes face-to-face with her fear of becoming a lonely and pathetic spinster.
Although Peretti is best known as the wacky Gina on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, she can also be seen in recent films including Game Night (Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams) and Friendsgiving (Malin Akerman, Kat Dennings).
Producers of the independent comedy include Marc Tetreault (Shut Up & Colour Pictures), William Woods (Woods Entertainment), Jay Dahl (Black Dog Films), and Bill Niven (Idlewild Films).
Tetreault stated the following about his feelings on working with Peretti: “We’re happy to have Chelsea on board. Her energy and wit will make the main character someone you want to root for.”
