Do you need a therapy session after seeing Avengers: Infinity War? Marvel seems to sense that they have caused a massive amount of distress in movie theaters over the weekend, so here’s a couple minutes of more light-hearted-movie-trailer fare to remind comic book fans that there is life after Infinity War.
Well, to be precise, this is life before Infinity War. Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place after Captain America: Civil War, and before Infinity War, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline. Presumably, the events at the end of this film will lead directly into the Avengers’ battle to save half of the universe from the wrath of Thanos.
As for the plot, the titular Ant-Man (aka Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd) will be partnered up with The Wasp (aka Hope van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly), in order to retrieve some important technology that was stolen from Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). The gear in question can access the Quantum Realm, an alternate dimension that you may remember from Doctor Strange, and the first Ant-Man. The antagonist in the film is Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), a saboteur bent on world domination who has the ability to phase through matter.
Check out the shrinking (and enlarging) action in the trailer below! Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters on July 6.
