He’s back at it again, folks. Rowan Atkinson is yet again donning the mantle of the hilarious and posh Johnny English in the movie’s new trailer. This marks the series officially as a trilogy, as it’s the third movie in the comedic film series.
The trailer opens with daunting visuals London draped in fog and mystery. Accompanied by a dark and powerful rendition of Bonnie Tyler’s “I Need a Hero,” the overall feeling of our first few glimpses is overwhelmingly grim. It doesn’t take long, though, for Mr. Johnny English to uplift the mood.
With a major hacker exposing all of the top-secret agents in Britain, it is up to Johnny to come out of retirement and save the day. Of course, Johnny and his old chap and comrade, Bough (Ben Miller), are going to need to pull out their best spy gear to accomplish this mission including magnetic shoes, smoke missiles, and some not-so-helpful virtual reality goggles.
The trailer is filled with classic Atkinson humor, a ton of memorable and lovable characters, and even a potential secret agent love story. Cast along with Atkinson and Miller are Olga Kurylenko, Emma Thompson, and Jake Lacy. The film is set to be released later in 2018. Johnny English Strikes Again was directed by David Kerr.
