Academy Award Nominee Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) is set to join Vince Vaughn (The Internship) in the action-thriller Term Life. Vaughn stars as Nick Barrow, a criminal who plans and sells heists to the highest bidder. When Barrow gets on the mob’s bad side, he takes out a life insurance policy to ensure his daughter’s (Steinfeld) future is secure. The catch: the policy takes 21 days to go into effect. With the task of staying alive for 21 days Barrow takes his daughter on the run.
The film is based on the graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow. Lieberman will pen the script, while the film will be directed by Peter Billingsley. Billingsley and Vaughn worked together on the 2009 romantic comedy Couples Retreat, however Term Life seems to be a bit different from what you would expect from either of them.
While Vince Vaughn seems to be a questionable choice for the role of Barrow, the addition of Hailee Stienfeld should be enough to hold the interest of those who would be otherwise skeptical of the film. While Steinfeld was nominated for an Oscar at the age of 14 for her role as Mattie Ross in the 2010 True Grit reboot, she can be seen in the upcoming adaptations of Romeo and Juliet and Ender’s Game. She can also be seen in the upcoming musical Can a Song Save Your Life? which also stars Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine.
