Rising actor Jake Lacy (Obvious Child) has joined the cast of the upcoming gun control drama Miss Sloane, according to TheWrap. The film stars Jessica Chastain (Crimson Peak), with Alison Pill (HBO’s The Newsroom) also on the roster.
John Madden (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) is directing the political film from a script by first-timer Jonathan Perera. The story will follow Chastain’s Miss Sloane as she lobbies for stricter gun control laws — undoubtedly a hot button issue at this moment, making this film ripe for development.
Miss Sloane was shopped for buyers at 2015’s Toronto International Film Festival where it was picked up by EuropaCorp for distribution and later joined by FilmNation to produce.
In the past few years, Lacy has continued to make a name for himself all across Hollywood. From appearing in the final two seasons of The Office and the past season of Girls, as well as co-starring in last year’s indie hit Obvious Child, the Christmas flick Love the Coopers, and this year’s acclaimed Carol, the actor is making his rounds in a huge way. Appearing with Chastain in Miss Sloane will also likely bolster his career even further, so it will be handy to remember his face and name from now on as it seems he will be sticking around for quite awhile. Next up, he will be seen in the Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) rom-com How to Be Single and the WWII drama Their Finest Hour and a Half.
