Rising star Ansel Elgort (Men, Women & Children) has been linked to the upcoming CIA drama Code Name Veil.
The film will be set in Beirut, just after the 1983 attacks on the U.S. Embassy and the Marine barracks. Elgort will portray a rookie CIA agent tasked with investigating those incidents. Things take a turn for the worse when his station chief and mentor is taken hostage, leaving the unexperienced rookie to fend for himself. Code Name Veil is based on real events.
Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger) has been tapped to direct the film, which is from a 2008 Black List script by Matt Billingsly.
Ever since his breakout role in The Fault in Our Stars, opposite Shailene Woodley, Elgort has been a rising star on demand. Also a part of the young adult Divergent Series, he was last seen in the first sequel Insurgent last March. He recently completed work on November Criminals (co-starring Chloe Grace Moretz) and is slated to return to his role as Caleb in the two-part Divergent Series finale, Allegiant: Part 1. He has also been attached to the Edgar Wright drama Baby Driver.
Trent Luckinbill, Thad Luckinbill and Molly Smith will produce the film with Jon Schumacher and Ellen H. Schwartz serving as producers for the Black Label Media drama.
