Comic actor Jason Bateman has made a name for himself in front of the camera in laugh-out-loud roles spanning both film (Horrible Bosses) and television (Arrested Development). Most recently however, Bateman has been honing his directing chops. With his feature debut Bad Words receiving positive reviews and production about to begin on The Family Fang, Bateman has just locked in his third directing job.
Bateman will direct and star in the untitled FBI wedding comedy, which was originally intended for Steve Carell. With very few details available, one can only speculate the various ways in which the FBI and a wedding can be combined for (hopefully) hilarious results.
Bateman will also serve as a producer for the film along with James Garavente and Bob Cooper. The latest version of the script will be penned by David Bar Katz (The Pest).
Bateman can next be seen in This Is Where I Leave You which hits theaters September 19th and Horrible Bosses 2 will be released in November. He will direct and star in the aforementioned The Family Fang which begins shooting next month in New York.
