Actor Robert Pattinson has offered an update on the physical demands of filming The Batman: Part II, revealing in an interview with GQ that performing extensive fight sequences and stunt choreography has proven noticeably more taxing as he steps back into the cape and cowl.

Production on the anticipated DC Studios sequel commenced in London in June, with Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne and Gotham City’s vigilante protector. Reflecting on the prolonged shooting schedule, the actor noted that navigating intense combat scenes at age 40 presents a sharper physical test than during the filming of the 2022 original.

“I’m in London here till the end of the year doing a ‘Batman’ sequel,” Pattinson stated to GQ. “It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.’ But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon.”

Director Matt Reeves returns to helm the feature, having co-written the screenplay alongside Mattson Tomlin (Project Power). The expanding ensemble features new cast additions Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch alongside returning stars Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. Narrative specifics and character identities for the incoming cast members remain under wraps.

Operating under DC Studios’ Elseworlds banner, the production maintains its own distinct continuity apart from the central DC Universe (DCU). Following several release calendar adjustments, initially shifting from October 2026 to October 2027, Warner Bros. Pictures rescheduled the feature for a wide theatrical rollout on February 18, 2028, providing Reeves and the visual effects teams an extended post-production window.
