Ahead of the upcoming 25th Anniversary theatrical re-release of the very first Fast and the Furious movie, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to provide an update on Fast Forever, the eleventh and final installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.
Diesel’s post, which attaches the 25th Anniversary trailer of the original 2001 movie, features a caption that begins with the franchise’s lead actor hyping up the upcoming re-release, writing: “You have no idea… When March 17th 2028 comes… you will thank God you got to see the first one in the theaters this summer.” Diesel also hypes up Fast Forever, calling the script written by Mike Leslie “the best script I’ve read in decades.”
Diesel has spent the past little while providing these updates on this franchise finale. Just last month, Diesel assured fans in a previous Instagram post that “Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.”
The upcoming theatrical re-release of The Fast and the Furious is set to have a limited week-long window running from August 21st to the 27th. Multiple theater chains currently have tickets on sale, so fans hoping to revisit the film can check their local listings.
Fast Forever is currently scheduled to be released by Universal Pictures on March 17, 2028.
