Simu Liu has officially signed on to star alongside Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph in the upcoming sci-fi survival thriller Homewrecker. Directed by French filmmaker Xavier Gens, the independent feature is scheduled to begin principal photography in Paris, France, on July 15, 2026.
The production has also added French actress Anaïs Parello to the ensemble cast, marking a reunion with Gens following their recent collaboration on the Netflix film Under Paris.
Based on an original screenplay penned by Elisa Bell and Travis Gordon, Homewrecker centers on three American citizens who experience a dramatic personal revelation just as an unexplained, catastrophic global event compromises human civilization. The core narrative forces the trio to coordinate their efforts to survive the unfolding crisis. Producers on the project have noted that the film’s tense atmospheric styling draws creative inspiration from standalone sci-fi thrillers such as 10 Cloverfield Lane.
The film is produced by Denise Di Novi, Margaret French Isaac, and Oliver Scherick on behalf of Di Novi Pictures, alongside John Zois and Warren Goz representing Parallel 42 Entertainment. Executive producers attached to the thriller include Michael Rothstein, Samuel Hall, Zach Book, and lead actresses Williams and Randolph.
The international sales and film finance outfit north.five.six. is providing full financial backing for the production while managing worldwide distribution rights. Domestic distribution representation within the United States will be co-handled by north.five.six., CAA Media Finance, and the UTA Independent Film Group.
