Lucia Alenar Iglesias has revealed the trailer for her first feature film. Called Forastera, the trailer comes just before it hits theater screens in the US. Forastera follows a young woman, Cata, looking forward to her summer vacation. But when her grandmother unexpectedly passes away, her vacation starts to look very different. As she has to care for her grieving grandfather, she’s forced to unpack her own emotions she was hesitant to address.
Zoe Stein is in the leading role for Forastera as Cata, joined by Lluís Homar, Núria Prims, Marta Angelat, Nonni Adral Hammarström, as well as Martina García Cursach.
Although this is her first feature film, this isn’t the first directional work from Lucia Alenar Iglesias. She’s worked before on multiple short films, including Foregnier, which became the blueprint for Forastera. Zoe Stein even starred in Foreigner, playing the same role that she will in the upcoming film.
Hollywood Reporter noted that Grasshopper Films will be distributing Forastera for the US. Alenar Iglesias was very happy about the partnership with Grasshopper Films, saying, “I couldn’t ask for a better partner in Grasshopper for the theatrical release of Forastera,” while adding her own personal excitement to share the film with more viewers.
The theatrical rollout for Forastera begins May 29th. Check out the trailer below.
