For the second week in a row, Project Hail Mary comes through and delivers another stellar box office performance. Netting 54.5 million for its sophomore outing, taking first place at the top of the charts, it is now the highest-grossing year-to-date film for 2026. This is a much-needed win for studios and is hopefully the start of a bountiful spring box office performance. Hoppers came in second place with 12.2 million in its fourth week, while They Will Kill You misses the mark and lands in third with a measly 5 million, rounding out the top three as the latest victim of the theatrical horror burnout, unable to hit the highs of the 2025 streak of summer and fall releases.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge in it’s second week in fourth place saw 4.47 million by a slim margin against fifth place Colleen Hoover adaptation Reminders of Him which only netted 4.7 million.
Ready or Not 2 caught 4 million and sixth place hacking it’s way past Scream 7 in seventh in its fifth week, which only managed to scare up 2.6 million. GOAT scored a solid 2.2 million in iths seventh week, hanging in strong. Undertone flies under the radar with 1.65 million in it’s thrid week in ninth beating the second new arrival on the top ten. Forbidden Fruits picked up 1.17 million as it landed in tenth.
A notable addition to the box office is a limited release documentary The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, which landed just shy of the top ten with 650,000 in only around 780 theaters.
