As the film enters production, the first image has been released for What Happens At Night, the next film from Martin Scorsese. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who are both seen in the first-look image.
The film is being directed and produced by Scorsese, with a script by Patrick Marber, and is based on the book of the same name by Peter Cameron. Like the book it’s based on, the plot is set to be a dream-like narrative, following DiCaprio and Lawrence as a married couple who visit a snowy European Town to adopt a child. Mads Mikkelsen and Jarred Harris will also be starring in the film.
The film is set to be produced by StudioCanal and Apple Studios. It will be Scorsese’s second film with Apple Studios, following 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which also starred DiCaprio and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards. The film will be Scorsese’s seventh collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio, as, aside from Killers of the Flower Moon, DiCaprio also starred in Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006), Shutter Island (2010), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
Production has begun on What Happens At Night. A release date has not been set for the film.
