The 32nd annual Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The eventful ceremony, hosted by Kristen Bell for the third time, featured emotional, well-deserved wins for 2025’s most groundbreaking pieces of media.
Sinners led the night, going home with the Actor Awards’ top prize for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, a category that the SAG-AFTRA tends to award to “an overall industry favorite.” Oppenheimer, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Parasite, and CODA all won the best-ensemble award. Delroy Lindo, who portrays Delta Slim in the movie, was the designated speaker for the ensemble. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of the film and those involved in making it,
I’m supposed to speak on behalf of our cast. There’s supposed to be a teleprompter, and I don’t see it, so I’m just going to speak. This project is anointed, and from that standpoint, we are all anointed to be on this incredible journey created by the incredible genius Ryan Coogler.
Michael B. Jordan also took home an award for his dual performance in Coogler’s film, winning the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. The award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role went to Jessie Buckley for her role as Agnes in Hamnet. Other film award moments of the night included Amy Madigan winning Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role as Gladys in Weapons, and Sean Penn winning Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Col. Steven Lockjaw in One Battle After Another. Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning took home the award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
