Robert Pattinson gave some insight into his upcoming filming schedule, spotlighting somewhat of a timeline for the filming of The Batman: Part II. With production well underway with Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan, the major new names joining the franchise, the film is finally on its way to becoming a reality after multiple delays.
The Batman hit theaters all the way back on March 4, 2022, and the sequel was originally set to release on October 3, 2025. The first delay pushed this back a year to October 2, 2026, and a second delay gave us our current release date of October 1, 2027. Director and writer Matt Reeves was given all of the time needed to finalize a high-quality script before production began, and it seems like we are finally approaching his vision becoming a reality. Pattinson recently wrapped filming for his upcoming film Prime Time and was quoted saying he is filming one more project before The Batman: Part ll, which should shoot from Spring through November.
Matt Reeves and Mattlin Tomson sent their script to DC Studios this past Summer, with James Gunn responding with excitement about the project. Reeves also highlighted his trust in Pattinson through this process, in addition to his great excitement about the project. Pattinson is in line for a big 2026 with 3 major films confirmed to be releasing: The Drama, The Odyssey, and Dune: Part 3. He will also be starring in Here Comes The Flood alongside Denzel Washington, which should be released this year, but does not yet have a release date.
Sebastian Stan has recently been confirmed to be joining the cast as Harvey Dent, with Scarlett Johansson’ role not officially confirmed. Following the news of Stan’s casting, it has been heavily rumored that Johansson will be portraying Harvey Dent’s wife, Gilda Dent. Returning cast members include Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon.
With production rapidly approaching, we’ll keep you updated with all the latest for the Caped Crusader at MXDWN.
