After a record-setting box office release, the VOD release date for Predator: Badlands has finally been announced.
The live-action feature, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, was the second Predator film released this year, following the animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers. 20th Century Studios revealed the VOD early today, confirming that Predator: Badlands will be available to buy digitally starting on January 6, 2026, with a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and DVD release set for February 17th. A number of bonus features come with these releases, including a full version of the feature with commentary from Tractenberg, the cast, and crew, deleted scenes, and clips about the making of the movie.
Badlands was a box-office milestone for the Predator franchise, becoming the highest-grossing film of the franchise, generating more than $184.2 million worldwide. This takes down the previous record holder, 2004’s Alien vs. Predator, which grossed approximately $177.4 million.
Badlands was the first film in the Predator franchise to be released theatrically in 7 years, with 2022’s Prey and Killer of Killers both released directly to streaming. This was the moment the Predator fandom proved they were still alive and well, which paired well with the critics’ positive response to the feature, with Badlands receiving an 86% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer.
Once released on digital, Predator: Badlands will have another chance at a surge in popularity, and another will likely rise again once a streaming release date is announced.
