Another trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has been leaked. This time, the X-Men are the focus of the trailer. Some fan favorites of the X-Men from the Fox Studios franchise have made their return in the trailer as well.
The trailer opens inside the X-Mansion, with Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier appearing in his infamous chair. He is playing chess with Ian McKellen’s Erik Lehnsherr, aka Magneto. The pair are smiling at each other, and then the next scene shows James Marsden’s Cyclops removing his visor and screaming as the surrounding atmosphere is affected by his beam.
Erik narrates the trailer, saying, “Death comes for us all, that’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t are you prepared to die? The question is who would you be when you close your eyes?” The teaser ends with the Doomsday clock that has appeared in other trailers, and the words, “The X-Men Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
Stewart, McKellen and Marsden were revealed to appear in Doomsday back in March when Marvel Studios hosted their cast announcement livestream. But with the darkness of the trailer and Cyclops’s struggle, the X-Men could have a dark future in this film.
Tom Hiddleston, the MCU alum who has portrayed Loki, has also teased the story for Doomsday. When talking to British GQ, he confirmed that he has finished filming as Loki. Hiddleston says, “The centre of the story is absolutely brilliant.” And he claims the film does something surprising that has never been seen before.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on December 18, 2026.
