The final trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites has been released. Directed by Michael Chaves and produced by James Wan and Peter Safran, Last Rites follows Ed and Lorraine Warren through another encounter with a demonic entity.
The trailer opens in Pennsylvania in 1986. A family claims that an evil presence is haunting their home. The Warrens are enlisted to help, but Lorraine quickly notices that this is not the first time she has felt this evil presence. We learn from Lorraine that this evil presence is actually the first demon that the Warrens ever encountered. “We were young, we were scared, we ran away.” Lorraine says.
Throughout the trailer we hear the familiar lullaby of the music box from the first film. We also see nods to other entities from the franchise. There is even a glimpse of the Annabelle doll, a doll which was so scary that it earned its own spinoff in The Conjuring Universe.
The Conjuring: Last Rites is set to come to theaters on September 5th. As of writing, this most recent trailer already has just over 2 million views.
