

HBO is prepping the stage for a brand new music documentary. The focus for this one is Billy Joel, with the trailer releasing for the documentary dubbed And So It Goes.
Billy Joel is one of the most recognizable names to come out of the last century of music, with countless iconic songs. From “Piano Man” to “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” Joel has been an icon of the rock genre, becoming one of the highest-selling artists in America.
Directed by Susan Lacy and Jessica Levin, with executive producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, among others, attached to the project. Lacy herself has a slew of documentaries on famous stars under her belt, including Spielberg and Judy Garland: By Myself.
Hollywood Reporter notes that And So It Goes, set to air in two parts, will utilize not only interviews and performance footage already released, but will also give viewers an exclusive closer look at Joel’s personal life. The trailer supports this even further, showcasing footage across all of Joel’s life, both on and off the stage.
The new trailer also promises viewers a look at the struggles that Joel had to face in life. Joel himself discussed in the trailer the hardships that plagued him, including a strenuous relationship with his father.
The first part of And So It Goes debuts July 18th. Check out the trailer below.
