The next step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fantastic Four: First Steps, is drawing closer to its debut. After a new trailer and even a new TV spot during the NBA playoffs, some think another trailer may be closer than assumed.
Fantastic Four: First Steps brings the team into the MCU for the first time, taking up the story after they’re an established team. Still trying to navigate their new powers and new responsibilities, they are forced to learn fast when a mysterious alien visits Earth, warning that the gigantic, planet-eating Galactus has set his sights on them.
After two trailers gave a look at the footage directly from the film, the TV spots for the game decided to take a slightly different approach. One in particular shows the team trying to make it to the game before tipoff, but the elevator starts to stall. While Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic starts to talk about the statistics of who will win, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch tries to make the elevator go any faster, making it abundantly clear that the last thing he wants is to miss the tipoff.
ComicBookMovie.com notes that speculation is circulating that a new trailer may come soon. Specifically, it could arrive June 5th, during one of the NBA finals games, like other tentpole trailers have done before.
Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters July 25th.
