The follow-up to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has started to round out its new cast. Kaitlyn Dever is lining up to appear in the newest entry in the Monsterverse.
Originally reporting on the news, Deadline said that their sources state that Dever is currently negotiating her terms.
Some of Dever’s film roles include Beautiful Boy, in which she starred alongside Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet, as well as Booksmart and No One Will Save You.
Similarly, ScreenRant notes that Dever also has another big-ticket project slated for release soon. Dever is slated to appear in the second season of the hit HBO series Last Of Us. She’s set to play Abby, a character that served as a rival to Ellie in the game that the show is based on.
ScreenRant also noted that the next Monsterverse movie will not see Adam Wingard return to the director’s chair. Instead, Grant Suptore will take up helming the project. As of right now, Suptore has only one feature film credit to his name, that being 2019’s I Am Mother.
The latest film addition to the Monsterverse, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, saw Godzilla and Kong team up to take down an ancient threat that’s been long forgotten. If unleashed, it could spell certain doom for the planet, and for the domains that Godzilla and Kong preside over. No new plot details have been released for the next film as of yet.
