The first teaser images for M3GAN 2.0 have been released. It is the sequel to M3GAN, which took the world by storm in 2023. While specific details for the plot of the movie have not yet been revealed, we can start to guess where the movie might go based on the original plotline and these new images.

In M3GAN, we see the young Cady orphaned when she and her family got in an intense car wreck. She goes to live with her aunt Gemma, who is not prepared to raise a child. As a solution, Gemma uses her position at a toy company to engineer a life-size, robotic doll to spend time with Cady. Needless to say, things go downhill from there.

While it looked like M3GAN was destroyed in the first movie, the initial teaser image shows differently. We see M3GAN looking very much the same, the only difference being the blue outfit she is wearing.

When asked about M3GAN’s appearance in M3GAN 2.0, director Gerard Johnstone said, “We couldn’t leave our girl out of it. She’s a living doll, and part of the fun of having a doll is being able to play dress-up. We had a couple of looks in the first film, but I wanted 10 different looks for M3GAN. For the sequel, I felt like here’s a chance to do that.”

In the second image, we see Cady inspecting some wires underneath a magnifying glass. Perhaps she is following in her Aunt Gemma’s footsteps and becoming an engineer. There is no way to know for certain. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
