Audiences will be in for a treat this Christmas with sing-along screenings of Wicked.
Approximately 1,000 North American theaters will participate in the sing-along event for the movie, starting on Dec. 25, nearly one month after Wicked launches in cinemas. Locations and showtimes have yet to be announced.
Wicked is set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 22, and will feature just Act 1 of the Broadway classic. The musical includes popular numbers such as “Defying Gravity” and “Popular.”
The story follows a young, misunderstood girl named Elphaba and a popular girl named Galinda who form an unlikely friendship when they meet at Shiz University. However, their bond is tested after an encounter with the Wizard of Oz. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo star in the musical Wicked. The cast also includes Jonathan Bailey, Peter Dinklage, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh.
The second act of the film is set to premiere on Nov. 21, 2025, when audiences will be able to hear fan-favorite songs “For Good” and “No Good Deed.”
